Hi everyone

For today's Saturday tutorial I have a process video on how I made the Heart Shelf from the February Project add on Kit. This is a very fun kit and super easy to make. The black enamel paint and rhinestone trim from the kit inspired me to make this.

Here is my video tutorial:
There is a voice over for this video but for some reason it came out very quite, sorry about this

And my close ups

Here are the other projects that I made with the February kit and haven't shared on the blog yet.

The Anatomy of a Layout which also comes with a video tutorial.
This layout was made with material only from the main kit.

Watch this video here:

This month I received the Main kit, Embellishment Add on and the Flower add on Kits. These layouts were made from these materials with only a couple of item from my stash

I have the Layout made for the February Sketch Challenge

Happy Equinox everyone!
My calendar tells me that Spring is here at last - time to shake off those Winter doldrums, wake up the mojo and start scrapping? What? The mojo is feeling a bit groggy? No problem - our Swirly Challenges are just the thing to bring it back to life!

Bec's Card Challenge for March, featuring a tutorial and an amazing prize, is all about dies.
Take a look at the beautiful card that Ginny created.

We're into our third week of the March Round Robin, and that means another round gorgeous lifts; here's Hanne's take on Kimberly's and Cheryl's pages.

DT Coordinator Kim has been coming up with some incredible sketches for our monthly Sketch Challenge; this one is part of  the February Love Letters Kit.

I found this gorgeous layout by Renee in the Swirlydoos Facebook Gallery

The ATF (All That Flutters) Challenge is now open; and the rules are simple: create a project that includes something that flutters - butterflies, dragonflies, bees, angels, fairies, whatever you happen to have on hand. I just love what Donna did with the fun brads and heart jump rings that Krissy included in the February "Love Letters" kit!

Not a subscriber (yet)? No problem! While the use of Swirly materials is encouraged, anybody can play along!

The layout of the week this week goes to Hanne

Hanne made this gorgeous layout with the January Kit. The soft blues are just perfect for this adorable baby photo. I love the layering and background stenciling on this layout

Good Saturday morning, Swirly Savages!
Time to grab you favorite stencil and dig into that pile of canvases that you bought on sale - we're going to create a quick and easy (I promise!) wall hanging with the February "Love Letters" kit!

I've created a tutorial on Snapguide; here's the link.

And a few closeups...

Hi Everyone, Heather here today, stopping by to say Hi and introduce myself. Just want to tell you a little about me and my creative style.

If you don't know me already, I am from the Central United States.  I have my own little piece of heaven I share with my handy hubby Adam, and our two crazy fun kids, Olivia (8) and Maksim (7). I am an avid gardner and spend most of my time outside during the warmer months. Even scrap and craft frequently by the ponds.

When you don't find me out there, I am usually in my studio I share with Olivia who is quite the artist herself.

I have been creative my whole life, but started scrapbooking after my daughter Olivia was born in 2008. I really got into the mixed media in 2014 and have never looked back. I can't say I have any one style that defines me. It depends on my mood and what crazy idea
I have thought up. But I really love anything I can get my hands dirty. My life is the focal point to most of my pieces and the kids are a huge influence on what and how they transpire.

I love three dimensional projects as well. But scrapbooking is my first love.

I hope I can inspire some creativity and I am excited to share this journey with you all. Thank you.

Heather

Happy Monday everyone!
Well, most of us are experiencing the switch to Daylight Savings Time and a lot more of you will be setting your clocks ahead in two more weeks. And what does that mean for all of us Swirly Savages? Why, one more hour of daylight for scrapping, of course! Why not take advantage of this and join in one (or more) of out Challenges this week?

Bec's Card Challenge for March, featuring a tutorial and an amazing prize, is all about dies.
Take a look at the beautiful card that Kathi created.

We're into our second week of the March Round Robin and that means we're going to start seeing a lot of gorgeous lifts; here's Ginny's take on Sherri's design.

DT Coordinator Kim has been coming up with some incredible sketches for our monthly Sketch Challenge; this one is part of  the February Love Letters Kit. To see what the Swirlydoos Design Team created, for our inspiration, take a look here

I found this gorgeous layout by Donna in the Swirlydoos Facebook Gallery

The ATF (All That Flutters) Challenge is now open; and the rules are simple: create a project that includes something that flutters - butterflies, dragonflies, bees, angels, fairies, whatever you happen to have on hand. Your project doesn't need to be a layout; take a look at what DT Member Jan did with the granite heart that came in the February "Love Letters" kit.

The layout of the week this week goes to Rae!!!!

Congratulations Rae, I loved this gorgeous layout made for the March Round Robin Challenge.
The stitching on the edges is amazing and the Deep teal, grey and white is a beautiful colour combo.

Yay! It's mine turn to share projects created with the Swirlydoos February kit of the month!

Here's my interpretation of the beautiful sketch this month.

There is some background stamping with two Prima stamps from my stash and a Creative Embellishements stamp as well as some splatters with Smooch in black.

Don't you just love those 49 and Market flowers? Oh my! They are gorgeous!

I added some beads inside the clay frame that I made from a mold. It was painted with Art Alchemy in Steampunk Copper.

Here's another clay piece from a Prima mold.

Next, I worked on the cute little slate heart included in the main kit.

I did some random stamping on the heart then did some stenciling. The wooden "always" was painted with the new Prima Sparks paint in Mermaid Sparkle. Love the Sparks! They really do have a lot of sparkle!

So, to continue the heart theme I'd like to share my Kaiser heart shelf.

Here's some close ups.

I'll share how I created this texture in an upcoming video.

Here's some clay leaves using a Prima mold.

Here's a mini pop up album.

Inside first page with a pocket and tag.

Second pop up page.

Third pop up.

Back of mini pop up album.

And, my last project. It's an interactive folio. This is the cover decorated with more of the beautiful 49 and Market flowers.

The folio is made of chipboard, black cardstock, magnets and a lot of score tape! This is made from an adaptation of several Youtube videos by Lunar Sun.

Here's the back.

Here's a video so you can see all the flips and flaps.

Krissy found this cute little mini album and sent the link to me. Of course, I had to check it out and make one a few weeks ago. So, first of all, this is not my own idea. Several different videos are out there showing how to use a pop and twist mechanism for this mini album.

I used papers, flowers, and embellishments from the Swirlydoos February kit of the month to create this pop and twist mini album.

Here's a few pictures.

Here's the Youtube video tutorial.

These are Design Team projects I created for Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kit Club.
