A local craft chain had paper mache pumpkins on sale, and I couldn't resist picking up a few(!) at half price.
I've used some gesso, some of the Prima Metallique acrylic paint from the July Embellishment Kit and some of the new Oxide Inks from Ranger (check out the Swirly Mediums Kit for September) to come up with a gorgeous bit of home decor for Fall.

Some closeups...

Here's a quick OTP for your walls using the tech kit add for August.

The crackle medium is the perfect touch for the wooden pieces used to make the wall piece.

Here's the link for the video.

.  One of the main advantages of getting the Swirly Pattern Paper Add-On every month is that after my layouts are finished, there will be plenty left for other projects: tags, cards, decor and mini albums.  Because I knew that the Wanderlust papers in the August "Sunshine" kit would be perfect for several small albums, I deliberately left a few sheet aside for that purpose.

The first is a Flip and Fold album. I've been intrigued by these for a few months, checking out Pinterest for new ideas. This one uses one 12 x 12 sheet of pattern paper, just under a half of another sheet and a couple of scraps along with a bit of cardstock, some lace and a few brads to hold 9 photos and a tag for journaling; how cool is that!

Before taping my pockets down on the inside, I fastened a couple of brads from my stash and added a bit of twine to tie my album shut.

Lots of pockets, right? And the center folds out to allow for two more photos!

******************************
The Wanderlust Collection actually contains 2 sheets of 6" designs: smaller copies of the 12 x 12 pages,  made to be cut apart and used as layers or for standalone project - perfect for a mini album designed to hold vacation memories.

I'm usually guilty of ending up with projects that are literally bursting at the seams; this time, I decided to try to resist those impulses and simply embellish with images cut from my papers and bit of Washi tape. I treated the package of Wanderlust chippies that came with the kit by using the paints and crackle medium from the Project Add-On and used the "travel" word for my title. One of the amazing Prima vines from the Embellishment Add-On was all I needed to compete my front cover.

A few of the images from the Souvenir sheet make a pretty design for the inside front cover and a pocket and some photo mats or journaling sheets for the next page.

More pockets and journaling cards from the Calling Card and Souvenir sheets.

Lots of Washi tape and a few of the altered chippies.

Another pocket and another place for some handwritten journaling,

And the back. I always leave that plain, to allow for wear and tear.

Today is my day to reveal Swirlydoos Sunshine Kit. I have three projects to show you today so lets not delay any further.
To start it out I have a fun layout I used the main kit and a simple one picture layout with lots of layering and texture.
 Explore Swirlydoos
This picture we took on top of a mountain over looking Kyrksæterøra.  The walk itself is interesting  because its like your walking on a marsh or bog, very mossy and wet, squishy beneath your feet.

I made a video of the creative process for your viewing. I hope you enjoy!

A few more close-ups.

I also have the project kit, that came with the crackle medium. Which I totally love the look of it, but I am so impatient.
Live for Today Swirlydoos

I totally loved the look of how this came out. I added some beading to the piece to make it more elegant.

And using the texture pastes again I added to the title to give more dimension .

And here is my take on the sketch challenge. Its a great sketch, but I went a bit different and used square verse the circle.

I wanted to share some more pictures from our recent trip over seas, this sketch let me do three, I love multiple pictures on a page. I can tell more a of story that way.

Discover Mixed Media Layout
These pictures are in Norway, down by the ocean, up in the mountains. Waterfalls everywhere, the more it rained the more waterfalls could be seen.
Here is a little video of the creative process.

Enjoy the close ups.

Happy day, all!

Stopping by to share the projects I created with the sweet "Sunshine" August kit of the month from Swirlydoos.

First, let me share the sketch of the month.

I liked the suggestion for deeply distressed edges in the sketch. So, I actually took a lighter and burned the edges of the background paper before mounting it on black card stock.

Here's a close up with the mix of Prima Art Stones that were painted with Prima watercolor.

A peek at the finished sketch layout. I did splatter with some Lindy's in Buccaneer Blue.

Next, I opened the technique kit add on. This month did not disappoint either.

Loved making this cute wall art.

I will share a video tutorial in a few weeks so you can see how I made this.

How about one for the All that Flutters aka ATF challenge?

I busted out the new Cricut Air to cut the hexagons.

Then, I busted out the sewing machine to sew all those suckers on!
I altered the alphas with Ingvild Bohme inks, Prima stamps, Smooch, Heidi Swapp color shine and a black pen. The chippy peeking out from behind the title was cut apart and altered with Prima Patina paste.

And, here's a butterfly kissed with the yellow glitter glue included in the kit this month.

One more...

The chippy was altered with the Prima Patina pastes and some embossing powder. I decided to include some handwritten journaling on this one.

Oh! Check out the bottle cap! I just figured out that you can run the bottle caps through the Big Shot with only one of the thinner plates + the thick metal plate and it will curl the edges of the bottle cap up. Pretty cool effect and easier to attach to the page with less bulk. Maybe this is an old trick for you but I never knew about this until I experimented last week!

Happy scrapping!
